Coffee Flavors at Starbucks
Starbucks has successfully provided some of the best coffee flavors that have enabled people to relax, enjoy a high-quality cup of coffee, and experience a unique, pleasing ambiance since 1971.
Starbucks also has over 87,000 drink combination options on its dynamic and evolving menus, including its “secret menu,” which is a list of various drink combinations that are not displayed on the public list of options.
Some of the most popular drink combinations at Starbucks include its Vanilla Latte, Iced White Chocolate Mocha, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Cinnamon Roll Frappuccino Blended Coffee, Java Chip Frappuccino, Hot Chocolate, Green Tea Crème Frappuccino, Blended Crème, and Chai Latte.
The coffee giant also sells its original coffee flavors within three categories: Starbucks Espresso Roast, DeCaf, and Blonde Roast.
Starbucks Espresso Roast
This is a signature espresso roast with a caramelized sweetness available at Starbucks stores. It is made by roasting green coffee to create the unique espresso taste; these drinks include Dark Roast, Rich and Caramelly, Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Caramel Macchiato.
Other types of drinks made using the espresso roast are:
Latte
This is a classic milky coffee made with espresso and hot steamed milk that anyone can enjoy, and is milkier than the cappuccino.
Cappuccino
This is a type of coffee made with espresso shots and frothed milk. Unlike a latte with steamed milk, the milk in cappuccino is pressurized and foamy. This means that the flavor is more intense.
Flat White
This is a one-sized coffee beverage with espresso shots and steamed whole milk. Its smaller size is meant to increase the coffee’s concentration and taste.
Espresso Macchiato
This is a standard single or double shot of espresso coffee drink that comes with an added spoonful of foam.
Latte Macchiato
This is a coffee beverage inversely concentrated with latte coffee. It is prepared when the pressurized foam is allowed to settle with shots of espresso then added to the concentration. This is purposely done to alter the taste of the coffee from that of latte.
Caramel Macchiato
This is a Starbucks signature drink that is only prepared at the Starbucks stores that has added elements of vanilla syrup and caramel drizzle.
Mocha
This is a concentrated mixture of chocolate and coffee. Starbucks serves it with chocolate sauce topping the flavors of coffee, steamed milk, and cream.
Mocha flavors include the Caffè Mocha, the Starbucks Reserve Dark Chocolate Mocha, and the White Chocolate Mocha.
Cortado
This is similar to a flat white-sized cup beverage, but is composed of two-layer ristretto shots and steamed whole milk.
Decaf
This is a decaffeinated coffee drink in which 97% of its caffeine properties have been removed; popular decaf flavors include Caramel Apple Spice and Pistachio Cream.
At Starbucks, every espresso can be decaffeinated regardless of whether it is a cappuccino, mocha, latte, or flat white. Decaffeinated drinks from coffee beans, tea leaves, or cocoa are free from caffeine and typically have 1% to 2% of the original caffeine content present.
Blonde Roast
Unlike decaf beverages, blonde roasts do not have less caffeine but are simply made from a lighter roast. At Starbucks, the Blonde Espresso is a lightly roasted blend of Latin American and East African coffee beans–popular Blonde Roast drinks include iced coffee and the Iced Caramel Macchiato.
Conclusion
Starbucks has successfully provided different unique coffee flavors since its inception, all of which continue to delight people to this day. Therefore, we can only expect more flavors to come from the chain in the future.
